Homosexuality in the Bible


Does the Bible say about homosexuality? For those who disagree are many verses in the Old Testament and New Testament that can be taken, but for those who agree that the same verses interpreted lighter or otherwise be construed as an endorsement.

Since the beginning of the Bible speaks of the existence of two kinds, male and female gender with sexual orientation each referred to as a picture of God, and that monogamous heterosexual marriage a unifying both genders: “So God created man in His own image, the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God bless them and God said to them: ” Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. . . . . Not good that man should be alone. I will make a helper for him, which is commensurate with her. . . . they become one flesh. “(Genesis 1:27-28; 2:18-25). Jesus supports this fact (Matthew 19:5) and Paul took it as an analogy of Christ’s relationship with the church (Ephesians 5:22-33), outside of the relationship is called the adultery which is equated with idolatry.

Likewise, although nationally the percentage of homosexuals were a minority, the percentage of local scale should not it evenly, so there is a community where that number is high and there are communities where the numbers are low, because it’s Sodom and Gomorrah and other cities are not punished by God.

Homosexuals interpret that Isaiah 1:10-20 does not mention homosexuality as a sin the sin of Sodom. From the context we know that Isaiah 1:10-20 is not talked about the sin of Sodom, but the sins of Judah and Jerusalem (Isaiah 1:1) and if there is no mercy Lord, will certainly be destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah (verse 9). Leviticus forbids homosexual sex as well as adultery and other sexual deviations: “Thou shalt not lie with men as men have intercourse with women, because it is an abomination. . . . If a man slept with men in the intercourse with women, so they did an abomination, they are certainly put to death.”(Leviticus 18:22; 20:13).
Gays mention that the love Jesus has abolished the law of Leviticus including a ban on gay sex. In the New Testament is also explicitly mentioned that Paul blamed the gay sexual relationship: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet (Romans 1:26-27).

Paul says: ” Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. “(1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Although homosexuals interpret this verse as Rome 1:26-27, namely that Paul forbids actors who perform homo-and hetero-rather than purely homo, obviously here distinguished between lewd behavior (pornoi), adultery (maichoi), and sodomit (arsenokoitai ).
