Terang Tuhan Bersinar Bagimu

Being God’s chosen people

A variety of responses, opinions and commentaries about Jesus. Every generation of Christians trying to explore the meaning of Christ, and each of his shows through notions suitable for the age and culture.
Thus there is described Jesus as a principal askese (resist, resist bodily passions systematically), as well as patients, kings, knights, superstar, capitalists, socialists, revolutionaries, guerrillas, and a miraculous cure.
Some of the paintings were conflicting and still others have almost no historical basis. That is why we need to find an authentic picture of him who is called Christ the historical and biblical.
We need to see him in all his perfection that paradoxically, his abject misery and glory of His triumph, his status as a slave and his status as King, His incarnation as human beings and the universe obedience to Him as the ruler.
He emptied Himself of His glory, and humbled himself to serve. He became a small, weak and easy prey, He entered into our pain, alienation, and our openness to all kinds of temptations. He not only proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God, but also demonstrates the arrival of the kingdom by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, forgive the sinner, be a friend of the marginalized people, and raise the dead.

He came not to be served but to serve, and gave His life as ransom for the release of others. Likewise, he became the victim of injustice in the courts and when they crucified Him, He prayed for those who were hostile to him. And in the horrible darkness due entirely abandoned God, He bore our sins in him who is without sin it.
Christian missions should follow the model of Christ’s mission, in which covered the same demands are met him, namely that we should enter the world-the world of another person completely different in thinking, understanding, tradition and culture. And in proclaiming the Gospel means we are well into their tragedy and despair, with the aim, says to them who Christ.
In the field of social services that means demanding our willingness to leave the ease and security of our own cultural backgrounds, in order to serve the interests of people from another cultural background, the mission is real!
Is it because evangelism or social services, requires identifying himself with the people in their actual situation. Jesus of Nasareth very troubled in his view of human beings who suffer, whether due to illness or loss of someone, but also those who are hungry, tempted or helpless due to various problems that come into their lives, all of it to the attention of Jesus in the ministry Him.
Are not we His people are a people-how is our attitude?

Many service finally motivated because of personal interests that are not sincere. Interests will be the position of the ministry has happened since to Christianity at the beginning and even financial abuse in the service at the start of Judas, the disciple of Jesus himself. How can we be a blessing in the service if there is still a model of Judas in the ministry of our mission.
God’s chosen people, not people who are separating their lives with the world and live with an exclusive positions in the holy community and satisfied with the abundant blessings, but they are people who want to humble their hearts and give themselves in servicesincere and sacred to the glory of the Lord’s name.

Philippians 2:1-8 says, “So that in Christ there was counsel, there is consolation of love, any fellowship of the Spirit, any affection and mercy, complete my joy because with this: be ye one heart one mind, one love, one soul, one purpose, by not seeking their own interests or the praise of no avail. Conversely, let humbly that anyone thinks the other greater than himself; and do not let every man consider its own interests only, but the interests of others as well.
Be ye in your life together, put your thoughts and feelings that are also in Christ Jesus, who though in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and be the same with humans. And in a state as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
They are God’s chosen people, who in preparing to become the world’s salt in the midst of decay and become a light in the darkness of the world.
